🥢 Easy Sushi Roll Recipe (Maki Roll)
🍚 Ingredients:
1 cup sushi rice.
1 tbsp sugar.
½ tsp salt.
4 sheets of nori (seaweed).
Fillings of your choice (try cucumber, avocado, cooked shrimp, or imitation crab).
Soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger (optional).
🍱 Tools:
Bamboo sushi mat (makes rolling easier).
Plastic wrap (to keep the mat clean).Sharp knife.
👨🍳 How to Make It
1. Cook the Rice
Rinse 1 cup of sushi rice until water runs clear.
Cook according to package directions.Once done, mix with vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let it cool.
2. Set Up Your Station
Place plastic wrap on the sushi mat.
Lay a sheet of nori shiny side down.3. Add Rice & Fillings
Wet your fingers (so rice doesn’t stick).
Spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving about 1 inch at the top.Add your fillings in a straight line across the bottom third.
4. Roll It Up
Use the mat to gently roll the sushi forward, pressing lightly to shape it.
Seal the edge with a little water.5. Slice & Serve
Cut into 6–8 pieces with a sharp, wet knife.
